HOMESTART PUTS FAMILY FUN IN THE FAST LANE AT THE bp ADELAIDE GRAND FINAL

Free kids’ entry, a bigger HomeStart Family Zone, free public transport and enhanced accessibility initiatives are set to make the bp Adelaide Grand Final a must-do for families this November.

As Official Community Partner, HomeStart is helping more families experience the bp Adelaide Grand Final, with a range of initiatives designed to make attending the event easier, more affordable and more family-friendly than ever before.

From free public transport for ticket holders and an expanded HomeStart Family Zone, to its support of the Schools Day Program, HomeStart is helping remove barriers to attendance and create more opportunities for South Australian families to experience the excitement of the event.

A key part of HomeStart’s commitment as the Official Community Partner is supporting the provision of free travel on all Adelaide Metro services for ticket holders across all four days of the event. This initiative is delivered in partnership with Adelaide Metro, with patrons simply needing to carry a valid event ticket when travelling.

Fans travelling through the city can also take advantage of HomeStart’s free CBD Bus Shuttle. The shuttle departs from North Terrace Stop D, approximately 20 metres west of the Adelaide Railway Station, every 10-15 minutes and stops at key locations around the CBD and the Adelaide Street Circuit Precinct.

These initiatives complement a range of family-friendly event offerings, including free entry for children aged 12 and under with a paying adult and enhanced accessibility services designed to help more people enjoy the event. HomeStart’s transport services will operate in addition to the City of Adelaide and Adelaide Metro’s existing Free City Connector Bus service.

Once at the circuit, families can head straight to the HomeStart Family Zone, which will be open from 8.30am to 5pm daily in the shaded area north of the Heritage Grandstand.

Free to enter, the zone will feature a packed line-up of rides, racing experiences, activities and entertainment for kids of all ages.

Young motorsport fans can put their skills to the test on the Rev it Up Simulators and Pit Stop Challenge Junior Racing Experiences, before jumping aboard new rides including Highflyer, Bluey Bounce and Kruisin Kombi.

Face painting, craft activities, flag making and temporary tattoos will also be on offer, alongside guest appearances from event mascots, Petey and Wheeliam.
Nova 919 will be broadcasting live from the Family Zone on Saturday, creating a festival atmosphere with interactive games, exciting giveaways and plenty of opportunities for families to get involved and win prizes.

The HomeStart Family Zone has been designed with accessibility and inclusion front of mind.

Families can access through the Hidden Disability Gate 9 (Sunflower Gate), with the SACARE Carers Lounge providing a private and accessible changing pod for people with disability, their families and carers. Equipped with a hoist and height-adjustable change table, the space supports dignified personal care.

The Office of Autism Sensory Bus will also be on-site, offering a dedicated space for visitors who may benefit from a quieter, sensory-friendly environment.

As Presenting Partner of the bp Adelaide Grand Final Schools Day program, HomeStart is also helping schools join in on the action. The program aims to provide primary school, secondary school and technical college students with the opportunity to experience the excitement and atmosphere of the event firsthand. Schools can register to attend for free on Thursday, November 26.
