Three different race winners from the three races at the Darwin Triple Crown sees the battle for finals places in the Repco Supercars Championship get even tighter.

Cameron Waters, Kai Allen and Anton De Pasquale claimed victories at Hidden Valley Raceway, solidifying their places in the top 10 in the drivers’ standings heading into the final few rounds of the Sprint Cup part of the season.

By scoring the most points across the weekend, Waters claimed the Darwin Triple Crown for the first time in his career. His win in the opening race of the weekend was his and Tickford Racing’s first wins since last year’s season opener.

Allen scored his second Supercars win in Saturday’s race – his fourth podium in five races at Hidden Valley – as Ford continued its winning run. After the race, both Brodie Kostecki and Thomas Randle fell ill and were treated in the medical centre, eventually withdrawing from the Sunday race. They were replaced by endurance co-drivers Todd Hazelwood and Mark Winterbottom respectively.

In Sunday’s final race, De Pasquale put Chevrolet back on top with a clever pit strategy from Team 18 – the first win for the driver, team and manufacturer since the season opener in Sydney.

While Ford and Chevrolet both claimed wins in Darwin, Toyota suffered a challenging first trip to Darwin with factory team Walkinshaw TWG Racing’s Chaz Mostert and Ryan Wood both losing points due to mechanical issues.

Championship leader Broc Feeney was off the podium in all three races, meaning his championship lead has been cut to just 15 points from Matt Payne. With Kostecki missing Sunday’s race, he dropped to fourth place below Waters with Allen rounding out the top five.

De Pasquale leads the charge for Chevrolet in sixth place ahead of Will Brown, Wood, James Golding and defending champion Mostert.

The championship now heads to the streets of Townsville for the NTI Townsville 500 next month, with just three rounds remaining in the Sprint Cup – Townsville, Perth and Ipswich – before the Enduro Cup. The top 10 in the championship standings at the end of the Enduro Cup following the Bathurst 1000 will progress into the finals, with the four grand finalists who will battle it out for title glory in Adelaide being set following Sandown.
