Formula 1 returned to the streets of Adelaide with David Coulthard and Scott Speed wowing the crowd on the Thursday of the bp Adelaide Grand Final.

 

Coulthard and Speed took to the wheel of the Oracle Red Bull and VCARB cars respectively, with the sound of the V8s reverberating around the Adelaide Street Circuit.

 

The 2025 bp Adelaide Grand Final is celebrating 40 years of the Adelaide Street Circuit, with crowds lining up to hear and meet Coulthard and Speed in the 40-year anniversary presented by CarBiz marquee.

 

The Oracle Red Bull and VCARB cars return to the track for further demonstration sessions on Friday.

 

NAPA SPEEDWAY SECOND NIGHT 

 

The Speedway action continued on Thursday night with Speedcars and Sprintcars feature races. Jamie Veal prevailed in the Sprintcars feature from Dylan Jenkin and Jock Goodyer. Wednesday feature winner James McFadden couldn’t repeat his opening night performance with a troubled run.

 

The NAPA Speedway continues on Friday with the NAPA Sprintcar Invitational, while the Jnr Sedans and Junior Formula 500 will keep the sounds bellowing through the Adelaide streets on Saturday and Sunday.

 

SUPERCARS & DRIFT ON TRACK

 

The Repco Supercars Championship completed its first practice session of the event, with Tickford Racing’s Cameron Waters setting the fastest time in his Ford Mustang. David Reynolds, Brodie Kostecki, Anton De Pasquale and Thomas Randle completed the top five, while Chaz Mostert was the fastest of the grand finalists in sixth place.

 

Meanwhile, fans got a taste of what they will see racing in 2026 with the new Toyota GR Supra Supercar debuting on the Adelaide Street Circuit in a special demonstration.

 

Also making its debut was the Penrite All Stars of Drift, which thrilled the crowd with their sideways antics.

 

TWO-WHEELED ACTION

 

The Freestyle Kings, headlined by Robbie and Kruz Maddison, brought their world-class FMX and BMX stunts to the Speedway and Supercross tracks at the bp Adelaide Grand Final.

 

The two-wheeled action ramps up on Friday with qualifying and heats for the SX1 and SX2 BOOST MOBILE AUSX Supercross, ahead of their Grand Finals on Saturday evening.

 

OFF-TRACK HIGHLIGHTS

 

The Schools Day presented by National Motor Museum and History Trust of SA saw students enjoy the on and off-track action, including an exclusive junior press conference with Supercars drivers.

 

The new Wanderers Basecamp, backed by Caravan & Camping SA, brought the best of the caravan, camping and 4WD lifestyle to the bp Adelaide Grand Final.

 

Other off-track highlights included the V8 Nation presented by Shannons Insurance car display; the HomeStart Family Zone; and the Australian Defence Force on-track demonstration and display.

 

MEGA REWARDS UP FOR GRABS ON FRIDAY

 

The bp Adelaide Grand Final goes up a gear on Friday with the first Repco Supercars Championship race of the event, with a $50,000 prize for the winner thanks to Mega Rewards. While the four finalists – Broc Feeney, Mostert, Will Brown and Kai Allen – will by vying for critical points in their championship bids, the rest of the grid will be looking to upstage them to claim the cash prize.

 

The Battery World Aussie Racing Cars, Trico Trans Am Series and Paynter Dixon Porsche Carrera Cup will also complete their first races of the event on Friday.
