Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup
The spectacularly styled Cup car is the first racing version based on the current 922 generation road car and the season finale for Australia’s premier one-make championship.
The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (Type 992) cars that make up the field of the Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup bring championship drama to the support category line-up at the bp Adelaide Grand Final.
Carrera Cup series are held around the world, with the concept for Australia’s series the same as those overseas. Drivers race identical specification vehicles, which ensures tight racing on a street circuit such as Adelaide as success lies in driver ability. Drivers compete in two classes – Pro for professional drivers and Pro-Am for semi-professional competitors.
The bp Adelaide Grand Final will be the final event for the category once again, after a long history of it beginning its championship on the streets of Adelaide.
