Eric Bana has made a star appearance in the 2026 bp Adelaide Grand Final commercial, which premiered to guests tonight at the official event launch for South Australia’s iconic motorsport race.

The evening also featured the unveiling of the new on-track competition, GT1 Race Club presented by GG Classic Cars, and the return of the Mega Rewards $50,000 Bounty for Friday’s 100km Supercars race.

Special guests, well-known motorsport personalities and drivers including reigning champion Chaz Mostert gathered at the South Australian Film Corporation for an exciting teaser of the 2026 bp Adelaide Grand Final taking place from 26-29 November, officially kicking off the countdown to the event.

Hollywood Actor and Producer Eric Bana surprised many, appearing as the face of the 2026 bp Adelaide Grand Final’s promotional campaign that will serve to build anticipation and draw another massive national attendance for the championship deciding race come November.

Bana summarises the dramatic unfolding of 2025’s championship battle in Adelaide before detailing what’s at stake in 2026 across four days, four contenders, three races, to crown one champion.

The Australian star of Troy, Hulk, The Dry and Munich, has long been an automotive and motorsport enthusiast, owning an array of classic cars including his 1973 Ford XB Falcon GT which he’s owned since age 15, synonymous with Mad Max and 70’s Australian Touring Car racing.

Having raced the car in the five-day Targa Tasmania rally, Eric Bana uses his blend of motorsport experience and passion to highlight what makes the Supercars Championship finale in Adelaide so special to witness in the event’s new commercial.

A Pagani Huayra R Evo Roadster was another surprise feature of the event launch, revealed to guests upon the announcement of a new track feature at the bp Adelaide Grand Final, GT1 Race Club.

The GT1 Race Club presented by GG Classic Cars, includes ultra-rare and track-focused hypercars from the likes of Pagani, Bugatti, Ferrari and more on the Adelaide Street Circuit, an extremely unique opportunity, with the cars rarely seen in-motion or at racing speeds on a world-renowned street circuit.

Returning to the bp Adelaide Grand Final in 2026, the Mega Rewards $50,000 Bounty will once again put a lucrative prize within reach of all Supercar drivers daring enough to conquer the Adelaide Street Circuit on Friday.

As one of the event’s signature features, the Bounty adds even greater intrigue to an already high-stakes weekend, creating another compelling incentive for drivers chasing glory at Australian motorsport’s ultimate season finale.

Alongside reigning champion Chaz Mostert were the other final four contenders from last year’s bp Adelaide Grand Final, sharing their excitement on-stage for another blockbuster Supercars championship showdown this November.

Supercars Executive Chairman Barclay Nettlefold said:

“The bp Adelaide Grand Final has once again raised the bar, setting the stage for what promises to be a spectacular conclusion to the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship.

“The additions both on and off the track further enhance an event that is already one of the most anticipated on the Australian sporting calendar. Combined with a championship-deciding battle on one of the world’s great street circuits, fans can expect an unforgettable weekend of racing and entertainment.

“Adelaide consistently delivers an incredible atmosphere for competitors, teams and fans alike. We’re excited to return and crown the 2026 Supercars Champion in front of a passionate South Australian crowd as the season reaches its ultimate finale.”

Event Director, bp Adelaide Grand Final Shaun Bennetts said:

“The countdown is on, and tonight’s event launch was a launching pad for what will be a massive, adrenaline fuelled 2026 bp Adelaide Grand Final.

“As the winner of the Best Supercars Event for four consecutive years and boasting enormous crowds to rival Australia’s best sporting events, it’s exciting to have Eric Bana on-board to showcase why our bp Adelaide Grand Final event is a must-attend spectacle.

“The on-track excitement of the GT1 Race Club presented by GG Classic Cars will be a unique opportunity for spectators, before the high stakes of the $50,000 Mega Rewards Bounty sets up an epic battle for victory for the Supercars Championship on Friday, alongside their four-way championship crowning title fight.”

These on-track announcements complement the event’s strong off-track entertainment offering already announced, including the return of NAPA Speedway in the City and the new addition of the Australian Rally Championship Festival.

The 2025 bp Adelaide Grand Final saw more than 285,000 fans through the gates cementing the Supercars championship deciding race as one of Australia’s top sporting events with quality on-track, off-track and music entertainment headlined on Saturday by Hilltop Hoods, and closed out on Sunday by rock legends, Guns N’ Roses included in every ticket.

The 2026 bp Adelaide Grand Final takes place 26 – 29 November with tickets on sale at www.ticketmaster.com.au/adelaidegrandfinal.
