2027 ADELAIDE CIRCUIT REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The Adelaide Street Circuit is being reconfigured for 2027 to accommodate both the Australian MotoGP and the bp Adelaide Grand Final. The updated layout will incorporate sections of the original Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit.
The changes allow Adelaide to host two world-class international motorsport events using much of the same infrastructure. The revised circuit has been designed to satisfy MotoGP safety standards while continuing to deliver exciting racing for Supercars.
Yes. The Adelaide Street Circuit will continue to host the bp Adelaide Grand Final, with Supercars racing on the updated circuit from 2027.
Yes. The revised circuit will be longer than the current configuration, incorporating additional roads from the original grand prix layout.
Modelling shows Supercars will hit an estimated 275km/h along Dequetteville Terrace with an anticipated lap time of around 1 minute 33 seconds.
The circuit design is the result of detailed collaboration between the South Australian Motor Sport Board, MotoGP™ and Supercars Australia with specific input from former 125cc and 250cc world champion and current Safety Advisor to MotoGP™ Sports Entertainment Group Loris Capirossi and Supercars driver Thomas Randle.
The new layout reintroduces sections of road that were last used for the original Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit – with the addition of East Terrace, Rundle Road and more of Dequetteville Terrace – creating a longer circuit than the current layout. This will reintroduce iconic corners from the grand prix layout, including Stag Corner and Brewery Bend.
While Turn 8 won’t exist on the new layout, Brewery Bend, which connects Rundle Road and Dequetteville Terrace, will be profiled to recreate the Turn 8 sweeper.
The Victoria Park section will be reconfigured, including a new and extended circuit layout, a relocated pitlane and paddock and new facilities to support both events. The redesign will also improve spectator viewing areas while ensuring Victoria Park continues to be available for community use outside of event periods.
The revised layout will create opportunities for new spectator locations around the circuit. Further details on grandstands, general admission areas and viewing platforms will be announced closer to the event.
While some popular spectator locations are expected to remain, other grandstands and viewing areas will be repositioned to suit the new circuit configuration.
Yes. General admission ticket holders will continue to have access to a range of viewing locations around the circuit, with additional details to be confirmed before tickets go on sale.
Further announcements covering the final circuit layout, spectator facilities, transport, road closures and ticketing will be made as planning progresses towards the 2027 events.

A community engagement process is underway to seek feedback on the proposed design, including opportunities to enhance community spaces in the Park Lands for year-round use outside major events.
